Set System

What is SET? Well, SET indicates that the system is based on the single ended triode tube. The technically inclined can further research this here. For our purposes, a SEET system is all about delicacy and detail. If you dig jazz, vocals, acoustic music, or small groups, the performance of a SET based system is unparalleled. That is not to say that you cannot enjoy the symphony or rock out. Just know that all systems do not excel at all things.

Our SET based system is built to showcase the qualities of the Lovecraft (formerly Cain and Cain) Abby Single Driver Speaker and the Bailey subwoofer.

The Cain and Cain Abby speaker has a phenomenally sweet sound at a great price. These beautiful speakers are handcrafted one at a time by my man Jason in Walla Walla, Washington. Accordingly I can get them in any wood finish or any paint scheme you desire. Numerous reviewers sing their praises, and the Abbys are universally regarded as one of the best single driver speakers in the world.

Alone, the Abby speaker is a wonder of mid range fluidity and startlingly accurate highs. When paired with the Abby subwoofer, the lows are seamlessly integrated into the musical presentation.

Jazz lovers, acoustic fans, and those who appreciate vocals and small ensembles flip over these speakers.

You can listen to the Abby through the Art Audio PX25 amplifier. I am lucky enough to have the low noise version of this amp and I recent rolled some new old stock PX 25 tubes into the amp.

I am presently evaluating the Glow One Amplifier. This baby allows you to play any source, including your I pod through sweet tubes and bask in the SET experience. Stay tuned for our conclusions.
